New headquarters for a pharmaceutical company in Esplugues de Llobregat. Harquitectes transforms a pre-existing industrial building into a workspace where a series of cloisters or rings of CLT panels organize departments into «tribes» around a central landscaped courtyard.
Climate control is hierarchized: the working rings have active climate with radiant-cooling floors, while the intermediate space between the rings and the original envelope is passively tempered. This strategy turns the existing geometry and materiality —industrial pillars, sawtooth roof, courtyard— into climatic infrastructure.
At the center of the group: the void, an interior garden beneath the pre-existing structure, where the company's collective life takes place.
